Sarah Haun CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA SELECTS TWO TWELVE ASSOCIATES FOR BLOSSOM MUSIC CENTER IDENTITY AND SIGNAGE New York, NY, July 17, 2001 Two Twelve Associates (http://www.twotwelve.com), a leading strategic design firm that specializes in signage and wayfinding, digital media, branding and print communications, has been selected to develop a new identity and signage system for Blossom, the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra. Located on 800 acres of rolling hills adjacent to the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area, Blossom hosts ten weeks of orchestral music each summer. Blossom is also home to jazz, rock, and popular music concerts, as well as a variety of theater and art programs. The facility's main feature is the Blossom Pavilion, an amphitheater that accommodates more than 5,000 patrons under its roof and an additional 13,500 patrons on its lawn. Designed by Peter van Dijk in the late 1960s, the Blossom Pavilion has been widely celebrated for its architectural and acoustical qualities. "This is a beautiful facility where architecture combines with the natural landscape to provide a unique home for the arts," said David Gibson, founder of Two Twelve Associates. "We are honored to work with the Cleveland Orchestra to advance Blossom's appeal for a variety of audiences." According to Gibson, Two Twelve will capitalize on Blossom's exceptional design and surrounding environment to develop a dynamic new identity for the facility. The firm will create a new logo as well as an engaging and dynamic signage system for Blossom. Gary Hanson of the Cleveland Orchestra, said: "Thousands of people visit Blossom each summer.
