TWO TWELVE UTILIZES CONEY ISLAND'S CARNIVAL PAST TO CREATE SIGNAGE FOR CYCLONES NEW BALL PARK

New York, NY, July 27, 2001—Two Twelve Associates (http://www.twotwelve.com), a leading strategic design firm that specializes in signage and wayfinding, digital media, branding and print communications, has completed the signage for KeySpan Park, the official home of the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Located between Surf Avenue and the Atlantic Ocean in Coney Island, Brooklyn, Keyspan Park opened on June 25, 2001 when the Cyclones, a new minor league team of the New York Mets, faced off against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Two Twelve was hired by the Cyclones to create a comprehensive signage system for the 7,500-seat stadium, including graphic treatments for concessions, ticket booths and banners, a stadium directory and luxury suites. Two Twelve leveraged the history, colors and texture of Coney Island in the design. The company also paid homage to historic Coney Island carnival rides in naming of the stadium's 12 luxury suites. Steeplechase, Wonder Wheel and Thunderbolt are among the names chosen for the suites.

"It was a thrill to be part of the effort to restore professional baseball to Brooklyn," said Ann Harakawa, principal of Two Twelve Associates. "Coney Island is a rich resource, and its cultural heritage helped inspire the signage for this stadium."

Two Twelve Associates' designs express the attitude of KeySpan Park. Bright colors, beach themes, and vibrant patterns create an atmosphere that is uniquely Coney Island and ties into the look and feel of the amusement area.

Founded by David Gibson in 1980, Two Twelve Associates specializes in information design, environmental graphics, interactive planning and design, brand strategies and identity design for a broad range of clients.
