Two Twelve's David Gibson Named 2009 SEGD Fellow

New York, NY, May 28, 2009 – Two Twelve, the New York City-based information design firm, announces that principal David Gibson was named the 2009 SEGD Fellow at the professional association's annual conference in San Diego, CA.

The Fellow Award, given annually, is the highest member recognition bestowed by SEGD. It honors individuals for promoting the highest values in environmental graphic design and significantly contributing to the direction and growth of the field. The Fellow Award has been presented to 28 professionals since the program's inception in 1987.

Mr. Gibson is internationally respected for his work in public information and wayfinding design. As co-founder and managing principal of Two Twelve in New York, David has developed complex wayfinding systems for clients such as the Central Park Zoo, Downtown Baltimore, the City of Chicago, Children’s Hospital Boston, Massachusetts General Hospital, Radio City Music Hall, and the city of Charlotte, NC. He wrote The Wayfinding Handbook: Information Design for Public Places, published by Princeton Architectural Press in early 2009.

Mr. Gibson was past president of SEGD in 1991-1992, a Board Member and Chairman of its annual Conference in 1991, and a recipient of its Angel Award in 1996 for his contributions to the organization and the profession.
