Bayhealth Kent General
- Wayfinding & Signage Projects
- Information Design Projects
Bayhealth Kent General in Dover, Delaware is presently undergoing a renovation and expansion with EwingCole Architects that will nearly double its size. Two Twelve was initially contracted to design signage for the new Main Entrance, Emergency Department, Oncology Department and a planned conference center, but the team has agreed that it will be more effective to develop a wayfinding strategy, room numbering system and signage design program that integrates all new and older parts of the facility.
Our overall goal for the project is to support the institution's healing mission by creating a wayfinding experience that alleviates anxiety, encourages efficient navigation, and enhances the facility's overall attractiveness. Research has shown that these benefits can contribute to better outcomes for patients, enhance productivity of professionals and staff, and leave a positive impression of the institution in the minds of visitors. In addition to the architects and facilities personnel, Bayhealth's marketing staff has been involved in the project to ensure that the program supports the institutional brand and is consistent with other patient and visitor communications.
