Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
- Wayfinding & Signage Projects
- Information Design Projects
For more than 35 years, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation® has been the nation's largest philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the health and health care of Americans.
After the introduction of a new corporate identity, the Foundation commissioned Two Twelve to update wayfinding and signage at its expansive headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey. The primary objectives for the sign program were to help new staff and visitors navigate throughout the multi-building campus, and to update the visual experience through application of the new logo to environmental graphics.
To address the fundamental orientation problem, Two Twelve developed a wayfinding strategy that divides the campus into five “sectors,” each identified by a color and letter. Each sign type and graphic throughout the sign system reinforces the sector concept through the use of the color- and letter-coding, as well as graphic elements based on the Foundation’s logo.
The new signage and graphics successfully communicate the Foundation's visual identity and reflect the ambitious mission and prestige of this important organization.
