The Cleveland Orchestra
- Wayfinding & Signage Projects
Severance Hall is home to the extraordinary Cleveland Orchestra and one of the nation’s most beautiful concert halls. As part of a $36 million renovation and expansion of the historic hall, Two Twelve created signage that assures concertgoers will not only hear the world-famous sound of the orchestra but also see its performances from their seats. Our signs provide the information music lovers need to easily find their way to their seats.
The renovation by David M. Schwarz Architects combines old and new elements while restoring the Hall’s 1930s decorative glory. Likewise, the signage strikes a balance between the Art Deco context and contemporary readability requirements. Like the accompaniment to a great soloist, Two Twelve’s signage makes the music sweeter by staying confidently in the background.

The renovation of Severance Hall restored details of the stunning 1931 hall design, expanded the facility’s amenities, and enhanced its legendary acoustics. We worked closely with David M. Schwarz Architects to ensure that wayfinding and code-required signage preserved architectural integrity.
